FREE PROXY CHECKER
Check an IP.
Understand the connection.
Check whether a public IP address is flagged as a proxy, VPN, Tor exit or hosting network. Enter an IPv4 or IPv6 address to get an overall result and any available network categories.
No account is needed for the limited browser demo. For your application, a free account includes 1,000 successful API queries every day.

Look for proxy, VPN, Tor and hosting signals.
What does the proxy checker tell you?
A positive overall result means the IP has been identified as a proxy or associated network, including hosting. The available category flags help you interpret that result. One address can have more than one label, and a positive overall result does not always come with a specific category.
| Result | What it means | How to use it |
|---|---|---|
| VPN | The IP is associated with a known VPN network. | Apply your VPN policy while considering legitimate privacy use. |
| Hosting | The address is associated with a datacenter or hosting network. | Distinguish server traffic from other connections; this does not prove VPN use. |
| Tor exit | The IP is identified as a Tor exit address. | Use additional verification where your application requires it. |
| Public proxy | The IP is associated with a known public proxy. | Review it alongside account history and request behavior. |
| No proxy detected | The lookup did not identify a proxy. | Continue using your other checks; this is not proof of a safe or human visitor. |
IP classification, not a proxy connection test
This tool checks an IP address. It does not open a connection through a proxy, test SOCKS or HTTP ports, validate a username and password, or measure the proxy’s speed. Enter the address only, without a protocol, port or credentials.
If you are investigating a connection from your application, check the public source IP received by your trusted server. A private address such as 192.168.1.10 cannot identify the internet connection. IPv4-mapped IPv6 addresses are normalized before classification.
Need to check traffic automatically?
Use the ProxyRadar detection API from your backend. Each request checks one public address. Read the Python, Node.js and PHP examples for authentication, response validation and error handling, or compare daily query allowances.
PROXY CHECKER FAQ
Know what
your result means.
How do I check if an IP is a proxy?
Enter a public IPv4 or IPv6 address in the checker and select Check IP address. The result shows whether the address is flagged and lists any available VPN, hosting, Tor, public proxy or known crawler categories.
Is this proxy checker free?
You can make up to 10 demo attempts per day from the same connection, subject to fair-use and service capacity limits. Create a free account for 1,000 successful API queries per day.
Can it test a proxy server’s port or connection speed?
No. This tool classifies an IP address. It does not connect through a proxy server, test a port, measure connection speed or verify proxy credentials.
Does “No proxy detected” guarantee a residential connection?
No. A negative result means the lookup did not identify a proxy. It does not prove that the address is residential, that the visitor is human or that the request is safe.
Can a hosting address be legitimate?
Yes. Cloud applications, monitoring systems, business services and crawlers can use hosting networks. A hosting flag does not establish that a VPN is running or that the traffic is abusive.
